Hello! I’m Cara Floyd, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Child Mental Health Specialist, and owner of Harmonious Family Therapy. I work with children of all ages, adults, parents, couples, and families of diverse backgrounds and needs. I am passionate about the work I do and about helping others through life’s most complex and difficult matters. I specialize in the areas of anxiety, depression, ADHD, challenging behaviors, trauma, parenting, and family communication and relationships.
My therapeutic approach is evidence based. I am trained in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, and Helping the Non-Compliant Child with Emotion Coaching. Additionally I am a Certified
Neuroscience-Informed Therapist and Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP) .
I earned my masters degree in Psychology from Antioch University Seattle in 2015 and my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Central Washington University in 2001. Since 2001 I have gained extensive experience spanning over 20 years of helping individuals and families in a variety of therapeutic settings including a residential home, a day treatment center for children and families, a community mental health agency, and most recently in private practice since 2018.
On my free time, I enjoy camping, gardening, exploring the pacific northwest,
and spending time with my amazing family.
